Very important is a home loss of third ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (6-5) against fifth ranked Base Oostende (6-5) on Saturday night. Host Dexia Mons-Hainaut was defeated by Base Oostende in Quaregnon 82-70. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Base Oostende made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kennedy Winston (198-84, college: Alabama) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian-Montenegrin guard Dusan Djordjevic (195-83, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 14 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) who recorded 19 points and his fellow American import guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) added 15 points respectively. Five Base Oostende and four Dexia Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Base Oostende moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Hainaut. Base Oostende will meet at home league's second-placed Okapi Aalstar in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dexia Mons-Hainaut will play against the league's leader Spirou Charleroi and hope to secure a win.
