Leader JX Sunflowers delivered the nineteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Aishin Wings (2-20) 70-58 in Anjo. The game was mostly controlled by JX Sunflowers. Aishin Wings managed to win second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aishin Wings 45-27 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Lynn Kibayashi (184-89) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Masaru Honda (175-89) chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Yuka Aoyama (176-88) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JX Sunflowers (19-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Aishin Wings lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. JX Sunflowers will meet at home Mitsubishi K. (#5) in the next round. Aishin Wings will play against the league's second-placed Toyota A. in Nagoya and hope to secure a win.
