Regular Season Round 10: Crocodiles - Kings 80-69

Date: December 11, 2011
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Wulguru where 5th ranked Kings (6-7) were defeated by sixth ranked Townsville Crocodiles (5-4) 80-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-69. The former international swingman Peter Crawford (193-79) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Julian Khazzouh (209-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Townsville Crocodiles and five Kings players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Townsville Crocodiles maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Kings at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Townsville Crocodiles will face higher ranked Melbourne Tigers (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
