Regular Season Round 20: Shimane SM - Takamatsu FA 76-62

Date: December 11, 2011
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Shimane Magic (10-8) defeated at home bottom-ranked Takamatsu FA (0-18) 76-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Takamatsu FA was better in fourth quarter 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shimane Magic made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jeral Davis (216-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 9 blocks and the other American import forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Hiroyuki Kikuchi (192-83) scored 13 points. Shimane Magic moved-up to third place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Loser Takamatsu FA still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Oita Heat Devils (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's second-placed Okinawa GK and hopes to get finally their first victory.
