Regular Season Round 10: Toshiba BT - Toyota Alvark 65-85

JBL top team - Toyota Alvark (16-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Toshiba Thunders (2-18) in Kanagawa 85-65. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Toshiba Thunders was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American center Scott Merritt (208-82, college: Marquette) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Hajime Ono (190-79) added 19 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-4 record, which they share with Aishin SH. Toshiba Thunders lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
