We should mention about the upset which took place in Madrid, where 4th placed Real Madrid (9-2) lost to fourteenth ranked Asefa Estudiantes (4-7) in a road game 85-90 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Madrid. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. It was a great evening for Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (186-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center German Gabriel (207-80) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. International point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) responded with 18 points and 8 assists and naturalized Montenegrin power forward Nikola Mirotic (209-91) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Asefa Estudiantes moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with FIATC Joventut and GC 2014. Loser Real Madrid dropped to the second position with two games lost. Asefa Estudiantes will meet Blusens Monbus (#15) in the next round. Real Madrid will play against Assignia Manresa (#10) and hope to secure a win.
