No shocking result in a game when first ranked Trieste (10-4) beat at home one of their biggest challengers Casalpusterlengo (8-6) 80-73 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-73. Trieste forced 20 Casalpusterlengo turnovers and outrebounded them 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Forward Luca Gandini (205-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Roberto Prandin (188-86) replied with 17 points and forward Giampaolo Ricci (200-91) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Casalpusterlengo. Five Trieste and four Casalpusterlengo players scored in double figures. Trieste have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-4 record, which they share with Napoli. Casalpusterlengo lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with six games lost.
