Regular Season Round 14: Ruvo - Fabriano 68-70

Date: December 11, 2011
A very close game took place in Ruvo di Puglia between Fabriano and Ruvo. Fifth ranked Fabriano (4-10) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Ruvo (2-12). Fabriano managed to escape with a 2-point win 70-68 in the game for the fifth place. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Fabriano made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Ruvo turnovers. Guard Cosimo Fontani (195-89) notched 19 points and 5 steals to lead the effort and forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by swingman Christian Villani (200-82) did not help to save the game for Ruvo. Marco Tagliabue (206-86) added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Ruvo's coach Giulio Cadeo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Fabriano maintains fifth position with 4-10 record, which they share with Firenze and Santarcangelo. Ruvo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Fabriano will meet at home league's leader Bari in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ruvo will play against Chieti (#3) and hope to secure a win.
