There was an upset when higher ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-7) was edged at home by ninth ranked Yokohama BC (6-9) 76-73 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 44-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Yokohama BC forced 20 Fukuoka Rizing turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 20 rebounds and swingman Masayuki Kabaya (183-82) who added 25 points and 4 assists during the contest. Yokohama BC's coach Reggie Geary used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) responded with 30 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) scored 8 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Yokohama BC moved-up to eighth place. Loser Fukuoka Rizing dropped to the second position with seven games lost. Yokohama BC will face higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Iwate Big Bulls.
