Very expected game when 7th ranked Arras (5-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Mondeville (8-4) 73-66 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian center Giedre Paugaite (192-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Laetitia Kamba (186-87) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) with 26 points and 9 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and Russian Nadezhda Grishaeva (195-89) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mondeville have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-4 record having just three points less than leader Challes. Arras lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Mondeville will face Basket Landes (#5) in Mont de Marsan in the next round. Arras will play on the road against Charleville-Mezieres.
