Regular Season Round 9: Priolo - Cagliari CUS 61-49

Bottom-ranked Priolo managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Cagliari CUS 61-49. The game was mostly controlled by Priolo. Cagliari CUS managed to win fourth quarter 15-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Priolo had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Serbian swingman Tanja Cirov (181-81) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Cuban forward Tania Seino (186-73) chipped in 7 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Latara Darrett (178-88, college: Prairie View A&M) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88) added 10 points respectively. Priolo (2-7) moved-up to tenth place. Cagliari CUS lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with Alcamo. Priolo will meet league's second-placed Familia Schio on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari CUS will play against Alcamo (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
