Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Solna Vikings (8-3) defeated at home 6th ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (5-6) 71-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Vikings. Norrkoping Dolphins managed to win fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Solna Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Norrkoping Dolphins' 24. Solna Vikings forced 19 Norrkoping Dolphins turnovers and outrebounded them 45-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Norrkoping Dolphins' players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). American swingman Christy Bacon (182-80, college: Wyoming) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Johanna Kallman (172-87) produced 13 points and 6 steals and international swingman Maria Nilsson (183-84) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Solna Vikings moved-up to third place, which they share with Sallen. Loser Norrkoping Dolphins dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Solna Vikings will meet at home IK Eos (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Norrkoping Dolphins will play against Kvarnby and hope to secure a win.
