Regular Season Round 10: Ironi Nahariya - Hod Hasharon 95-100

An interesting game took place in Nahariya where higher ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-4) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Hod Hasharon (5-5) 100-95. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ironi Nahariya won fourth quarter 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hod Hasharon shot 62.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Hod Hasharon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Latvian swingman Gary Gandel (203-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Avi Sukar (187-76) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) replied with 28 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Eric Traimel (201-88, college: N.Texas) added 28 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Nahariya. Five Hod Hasharon and four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Hod Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel Afula and Elitzur Ramla. Ironi Nahariya at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Hod Hasharon's next round opponent will be Elitzur Ramla (#8) at home.
