Elitzur Yavne (#4) was upset in Ramla by eighth ranked Elitzur Ramla 95-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Elitzur Yavne. It looked good early as Elitzur Yavne took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Elitzur Ramla had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Elitzur Yavne was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-95. Elitzur Ramla players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Elitzur Yavne's players. Forward Michael Badalov (201-87) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Ilan Berkowitz (186-75) supported him with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Elitzur Ramla's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American swingman Brian Laing (195-85, college: Seton Hall, agency: I.D.S. Law) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Yavne. Swingman Elad Hofman (192-85) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Five Elitzur Ramla and four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. Elitzur Ramla (5-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel Afula and Hod Hasharon. Elitzur Yavne at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Ironi K-A and Kiryat Tivon. Elitzur Ramla will play against Hod Hasharon (#7) on the road in the next round. Elitzur Yavne will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in Nes Ziyona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
