Jilin Tigers (4-6) outlasted DongGuan Leopards (6-5) in overtime by four points 104-100 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of DongGuan Leopards. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime then DongGuan Leopards managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Jilin Tigers who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-10. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely DongGuan Leopards outrebounded Jilin Tigers 50-38 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) who scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordanian guard Osama Daghles (198-79, college: Midwestern St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Kai Zhang (211-82) added 22 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. DongGuan Leopards' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers maintains eleventh place with 4-6 record. Loser DongGuan Leopards dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Jilin Tigers will meet at home higher ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DongGuan Leopards will play against Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
