There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Atenas (4-4) beat higher ranked Lanus (4-4) in Buenos Aires 71-67 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 21-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Atenas made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. American forward Marcus Melvin (203-82, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Strategic Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) contributed with 17 points and 7 steals for the winners. Atenas' coach Nestor Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game.
