Regular Season Round 12: Qingdao E. - Jiangsu D. 103-86

There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-8) were defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Qingdao Double Star (4-8) 103-86 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Qingdao Double Star. Jiangsu Dragons was better in fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 43-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who scored 26 points and 8 assists. Nigerian-British power forward Olumide Oyedeji (208-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Four Qingdao Double Star players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Da Meng (196-82) added 23 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Qingdao Double Star moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Jiangsu Dragons dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Qingdao Double Star will face league's leader Beijing Ducks on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Shandong Bulls (#12) in Jinan.
