Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Arranz-Jopisa Burgos and 10th ranked Cajarural had identical 3-6 record. This time Arranz-Jopisa Burgos used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Zamora 74-69 on Friday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Cajarural won second period 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arranz-Jopisa Burgos made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (193-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Lorena Infantes (171-81) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists (made all of her eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import forward Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) added 23 points in the effort for Cajarural. Five Arranz-Jopisa Burgos and four Cajarural players scored in double figures. Cajarural's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Arranz-Jopisa Burgos maintains ninth position with 4-6 record. Cajarural at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with seven games lost. Arranz-Jopisa Burgos will face bottom-ranked Ibiza (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Cajarural will play against Hondarribia-Irun (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
