Regular Season Round 13: Trefl II Sopot - Wilki Morskie 64-68

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Wilki Morskie (5-7) beat on the road 8th ranked Trefl II Sopot (4-7) 68-64 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But Trefl II Sopot won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Wilki Morskie won last quarter 12-9. They also forced 21 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wilki Morskie made 14 blocks. It was a very good performance for forward Radoslaw Bojko (196-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Igor Trela (206-89) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Forward Filip Malgorzaciak (188-93) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Wojciech Fras (203-91) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Trefl II Sopot. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Wilki Morskie. They moved-up to eighth place in Group A. Loser Trefl II Sopot dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Wilki Morskie will face Zyrardowianka (#11) on the road in the next round. Trefl II Sopot will play against the league's leader Open Florentyna having rather not much hope for a victory.
