Regular Season Round 12: Belfast Star - B.Gais Neptune 96-99

Fourth-ranked Belfast Star (1-11) made lots of trouble for first ranked B.Gais Neptune (7-4). The visitors from Cork managed to secure only three-point victory 99-96. However their fans expected easier game. B.Gais Neptune shot 63.9 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Belfast Star turnovers. It was a good game for guard Gerard Noonan (180-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Joshua Johnson (199-85, college: Bowie St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Michael McKillop (194-85, college: Davidson) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Belfast Star. Four B.Gais Neptune and five Belfast Star players scored in double figures. B.Gais Neptune maintains first position with 7-4 record. Belfast Star at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. B.Gais Neptune's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Cork to the arena UCC Demons.
