LF2 top team - Pais Vasco (11-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Space Tanit Eivissa (6-6) 67-59. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Space Tanit Eivissa won third quarter 16-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pais Vasco dominated on the defensive end, holding Space Tanit Eivissa to just 7 points in second quarter. Point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Brazilian center Geisa Campos (188-79) chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Crista Ricketts (185-85, college: La Salle) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Anna Boleda (181-81) scored 16 points. Pais Vasco have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 11-2 record. Loser Space Tanit Eivissa dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Pais Vasco will have a break next round. Space Tanit Eivissa will play on the road against Orion-GDKO (#9) in Galdakao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
