There was a minor upset in Stadrbredimus where 5th ranked Musel Pikes (6-7) was defeated by eighth ranked Residence (5-8) 81-74 on Saturday. Musel Pikes was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-19 charge of Residence, which allowed them to win the game. The former international forward Thierry Abdiu (192-87) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. U.S. Virgin Isl. Forward Jerome Gumbs (194-82, college: USF) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Guy Schmit (187-80) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Residence and four Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. Residence maintains eighth place with 5-8 record. Musel Pikes at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Residence will face league's second-placed Sparta in Bertrange in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
