2Liga top team - Slask II W. (11-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked GTK Gliwice (6-7) 75-69. Slask II W. forced 22 GTK Gliwice turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Slask II W. made 10 blocks. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward Miroslaw Lopatka (213-77, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Adrian Mroczek-Truskowski (195-85) contributed with 8 points for the winners. Slask II W.'s coach Grzegorz Krzak used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Przemyslaw Malona (198-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Pawel Szymanski (187-92) added 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for GTK Gliwice. Four GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Slask II W.. Newly promoted Slask II W. maintains first place in Group B with 11-2 record. GTK Gliwice lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Slask II W. will face league's second-placed BM Wegiel Stal in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GTK Gliwice will play at home against Alba Chorzow (#4).
