Regular Season Round 10: STU Tbilisi - Dinamo Tbilisi 97-81

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: STU (#8) and Dinamo Tbilisi (#7). STU (4-5) smashed visiting Dinamo Tbilisi (3-6) by 16 points 97-81. The game was mostly controlled by STU. Dinamo Tbilisi managed to win third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. STU forced 20 Dinamo Tbilisi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Dinamo Tbilisi's players. Forward Zurab Machaladze (198-92) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Zviad Antadze (198-88, college: Monroe Coll.) chipped in 27 points. Five STU players scored in double figures. American guard Dave Noel (191-85, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Keyon Carter (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 25 points and 19 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. STU moved-up to sixth place, which they share with TSU Tbilisi. Dinamo Tbilisi at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. STU's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Sokhumi.
