There was no surprise when 13th ranked Cravic Reus (3-9) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Orion-GDKO (5-7) 78-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. Orion-GDKO made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (184-76, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Nerea Larrazabal (168-84) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Senegalese forward Awa Doumbia (182-79) responded with 20 points and Alba Ballare (-87) scored 16 points. Orion-GDKO moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Loser Cravic Reus keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Orion-GDKO will face higher ranked Space Tanit Eivissa (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cravic Reus will play against Segle XXI (#11) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
