There was a small surprise in Osaka where fourth ranked Panasonic Trians (11-11) defeated second-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (17-5) 80-73 on Saturday. Aishin Sea Horses were trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Panasonic Trians, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) who scored 19 points. American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Panasonic Trians maintains fourth place with 11-11 record. Defending champion Aishin Sea Horses keep the second position with five games lost. Panasonic Trians will face bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (#8) in Kanagawa in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
