Very expected game when 17th ranked Quimper UJAP (4-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Chalons-Reims (9-4) 74-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Chalons-Reims. Quimper UJAP was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalons-Reims made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Power forward Kevin Corre (202-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international Gary Chathuant (195-83) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalons-Reims have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fos Ouest and Boulogne. Loser Quimper UJAP keeps the seventeenth position with nine games lost. Chalons-Reims will face Fos Ouest (#5) at home in the next round. Quimper UJAP will play against Aix-Maurienne (#6) in Aix-les-Bains.
