No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (9-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Saitama Broncos (6-11) 93-80 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 57-42 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Niigata Albirex outrebounded Saitama Broncos 49-31 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Kenny Satterfield (188-81, college: Cincinnati) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and forward Daiki Terashita (190-80) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Niigata Albirex and four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex moved-up to fourth place. Loser Saitama Broncos keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Saitama Broncos (#8) at home in the next round.
