No shocking result in a game in Bertrange where second ranked Sparta (10-3) defeated bottom-ranked BBC Nitia (1-12) 91-80 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sparta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to BBC Nitia's 32 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Belgian swingman Julien Hublart (192-88) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American power forward William Arre (199-86, college: Lock Haven, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Luc Ruppert (187-90) added 18 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Sparta maintains second place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader T71. BBC Nitia lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Sparta will face Residence (#8) in Bereldange in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BBC Nitia will play at home against Etzella in Ettelbruck.
