Regular Season Round 13: Wisla AWF Kr. - UMKS Kielce 56-66

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked UMKS Kielce (8-4) defeated 9th ranked Wisla AWF Kr. (5-7) in Krakow 66-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by UMKS Kielce. Wisla AWF Kr. was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UMKS Kielce forced 19 Wisla AWF Kr. turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UMKS Kielce made 10 blocks. Quite impressive performance for forward Wojciech Miernik (194-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Lukasz Fafara (194-84) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four UMKS Kielce players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Grzegorz Radwan (200-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and guard Konrad Pilch (189-90) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Wisla AWF Kr.Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. UMKS Kielce moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with MKS Limbach and Handlopex AZS. Wisla AWF Kr. lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. UMKS Kielce will face Novum Lublin (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Wisla AWF Kr. will play against UKS Siemaszka in Piekary.
