Regular Season Round 13: BI SSA Gdynia - Inea AZS 85-45

Bottom-ranked Inea AZS (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-45 loss to third ranked Lotos Gdynia (10-3) in Gdynia. The game without a history. Lotos Gdynia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Inea AZS's 22 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Inea AZS 34-20 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Gabonese-French forward Geraldine Robert (184-80) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. American center Aneika Henry (193-86, college: Florida) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Lotos Gdynia players scored in double figures. Lotos Gdynia's coach Javier Fort felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eliza Horodenska answered with 16 points and guard Magdalena Gawronska (168-83, agency: Promotex) added 13 points in the effort for Inea AZS. Lotos Gdynia maintains third place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Wisla Can-Pak, which they share with ROW Rybnik. Inea AZS at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Lotos Gdynia will play against league's leader Wisla Can-Pak in Krakow in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Inea AZS will play on the road against Energa Torun (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
