Regular Season Round 13: Nice - Aix-en-Provence 72-66

Bottom-ranked Nice managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Nice won against twelfth-ranked Aix-en-Provence 72-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aix-en-Provence won third quarter 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Senegalese center Jeanne Senghor (191-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Aminata Konate (170-90) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Nice's coach Olga Tarasenko used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Natalie Hurst (163-83) responded with 19 points and 6 assists and Spanish guard Tamara Abalde (188-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 18 points. Newly promoted Nice maintains fourteenth place with 3-10 record. Loser Aix-en-Provence keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Lyon. Nice will meet at home higher ranked Bourges (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aix-en-Provence will play against Villeneuve D'Asco (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
