Bottom-ranked Ibiza is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to eighth ranked Gran Canaria (5-5) 99-59. The game without a history. Gran Canaria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gran Canaria outrebounded Ibiza 37-23 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Gran Canaria players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Senegalese center Astou Ndour (196-94) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Ivorian power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Gran Canaria's coach Domingo Diaz felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian center Sandra Pirsic (195-84) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Catherine Scanlon (180-83, college: Drexel) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gran Canaria moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cadi la Seu. Ibiza at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Gran Canaria's next round opponent will be higher ranked Mann Filter (#6) in Zaragoza and it may be quite challenging game. Ibiza will play at home against Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
