Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Muggia (7-4) won against at home 9th ranked Pall.Piemonte (4-9) 75-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Muggia. Pall.Piemonte was better in fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pall.Piemonte 48-30 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) who led her team to a victory with 27 points. Slovenian center Ajda Gabrovsek (190-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Muggia players scored in double figures. Muggia's coach Matjia Jogan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Paola Montanaro (168-89) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Alice Quarta (175-91) added 15 points and 4 steals in the effort for Pall.Piemonte. Muggia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in North. Pall.Piemonte lost sixth consecutive game. Pall.Piemonte at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Muggia will face league's second-placed Milano on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pall.Piemonte will play against Bolzano (#7).
