There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Plasencia Extremadura (2-8) defeated higher ranked Lan Mobel ISB (3-7) in Azpeitia 89-82 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 30-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Plasencia Extremadura made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Guard Francisco Robles (195-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Joseba Iglesias (201-83) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Plasencia Extremadura players scored in double figures. American-French guard Alfredo Ott (193-83, college: Dillard) answered with 22 points and 6 steals and guard Marcos Casado (183-83) added 20 points in the effort for Lan Mobel ISB. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Plasencia Extremadura moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Gandia Basquet. Lan Mobel ISB lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost.
