Regular Season Round 11: Tigers - Crocodiles 93-80

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Townsville Crocodiles (5-5) were defeated on the road by third ranked Melbourne Tigers (7-6) 93-80 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-80. It was a great evening for the former international forward Tommy Greer (200-83, college: Nova SE) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Melbourne Tigers players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Peter Crawford (193-79) responded with 30 points and the former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Melbourne Tigers maintains third place with 7-6 record having just three points less than leader Breakers. Loser Townsville Crocodiles keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Blaze. Melbourne Tigers will meet at home Cairns Taipans (#4) in the next round. Townsville Crocodiles will play against Kings in Sydney and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
