Rather expected game in Ettelbruck where 3rd placed Etzella (8-5) was defeated by first ranked T71 (12-1) 92-87 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Etzella won second period 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when T71 won last quarter 26-23. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. International guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) fired 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. International swingman Jairo Delgado (190-85) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four T71 players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Nelson Delgado (188-80) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. T71 have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Etzella at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. T71 will face Amicale (#4) in Steinsel in the next round. Etzella will play on the road against BBC Nitia in Bettembourg.
