The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Akita Happinets (13-7) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Osaka Evessa (13-5) 71-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akita Happinets. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 25-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Osaka Evessa's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Dutch-American power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-80, college: Binghamton) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Akita Happinets. Five Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa moved-up to third place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Akita Happinets at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. They share it with Fukuoka Rizing. Osaka Evessa is looking forward to face Sendai 89ers (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Akita Happinets will play against Kyoto Hannar. and are hoping to win this game.
