There was a minor upset in Santoago de Comp where 14th ranked Asefa Estudiantes (6-9) was edged by sixteenth ranked Blusens Monbus (4-11) 61-58 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) who added 5 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (186-89) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Blusens Monbus maintains sixteenth position with 4-11 record, which they share with UCAM Murcia and B.de Rueda V. Loser Asefa Estudiantes dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Blusens Monbus will face higher ranked CAI Zaragoza (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
