Regular Season Round 12: Jarva Devils - Akropol 75-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Akropol (8-4) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Jarva Devils (5-7) 75-70 on Sunday. Akropol was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of Jarva Devils, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Akropol to just 5 points in second quarter. Akropol was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Binyam Feghadu (195-89) who scored 34 points (!!!). Naturalized Argentinian guard Rafael Carbone (192-89, agency: World Sport Agency) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds and guard Joel Pietros (188-83) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jarva Devils moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Orongo and Talje. Akropol at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Jarva Devils will face higher ranked KFUM Blackebergs (#6) in Vallingby in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akropol will play at home against Talje Knights.
