Rather expected game when 11th ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (5-8) lost to ninth ranked Liaoning Hunters (6-6) in Yingkou 94-108 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Liaoning Hunters. Fujian SBS XunXin managed to win third quarter 31-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liaoning Hunters looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Liaoning Hunters made 7 blocks. American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) nailed a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winning side and center Dejun Han (215-89) accounted for 17 points and 15 rebounds. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) added 14 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Fujian SBS XunXin in the defeat. Five Liaoning Hunters and four Fujian SBS XunXin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liaoning Hunters maintains ninth place with 6-6 record. Fujian SBS XunXin lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Liaoning Hunters will meet higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fujian SBS XunXin will play against the league's second-placed Guandong Tigers (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
