Round 18 in Basketligan means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Uppsala where host Uppsala Basket (9-9) crushed league's leader Boras Basket (12-6) 106-78 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Boras Basket. The game without a history. Uppsala Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Boras Basket's 44 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Uppsala Basket forced 21 Boras Basket turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Rickard Eriksson (190-82) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. Australian guard Rhys Carter (190-84) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Five Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) who recorded 26 points and 8 rebounds and American-Italian guard Ryan Zamroz (191-87, college: Master's, agency: JEMsports) added 21 points respectively. They were replaced at the leadership position by LF Basket. Boras Basket will play next round against strong Sodertalje Kings trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Uppsala Basket will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Solna Vikings at home.
