Regular Season Round 15: Upea CdO - San Severo 63-57

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-best Mazzeo San Severo (7-8) was defeated on the road by third ranked Orlandina (9-6) 63-57 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mazzeo San Severo won third quarter 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for forward Andrea Benevelli (202-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Nicholas Crow (199-89) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Orlandina players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Giovanni Fattori (202-85) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Riccardo Marzoli (190-89) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Newly promoted Orlandina maintains third place with 9-6 record behind leader Napoli which they share with defeated Mazzeo San Severo. Loser Mazzeo San Severo dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Orlandina will face league's leader Chieti at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mazzeo San Severo will play against the league's leader Napoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
