There was an upset in Casale where 4th placed Bennet Cantu (6-5) was defeated by sixteenth ranked Novipiu CM (3-7) 69-65 on Sunday. Bennet Cantu was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 27-17 charge of Novipiu CM, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Mustafa Shakur (193-84, college: Arizona) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. Naturalized American power forward David Chiotti (206-84, college: N.Mexico, agency: Court Side) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Novipiu CM's coach Marco Crespi used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Uruguayan guard Nicolas Mazzarino (181-75, agency: Players Group) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests.
