Regular Season Round 13: Xinjiang FT - Jilin NE T. 94-89

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (7-4) beat 10th ranked Jilin Tigers (5-7) in Urumqi 94-89 on Sunday. Jilin Tigers were trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 28-19 charge of Xinjiang Flying Tige, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) nailed 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Bob Donewald used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Jordanian guard Osama Daghles (198-79, college: Midwestern St.) came up with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) added 29 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Jilin Tigers in the defeat. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Shanghai S.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home Liaoning Hunters (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jilin Tigers will play against Shanxi Zhongyu in Taiyuan and hope to secure a win.
