The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ragusa (10-2) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked S.E.Battipaglia (7-4) 61-60. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ragusa. Ragusa was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Ragusa outrebounded S.E.Battipaglia 44-30 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Francesca Di Battista (175-80) who saved her team from a defeat with 21 points. Czech center Martina Rejchova (195-83) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maria Buzzanca (171-76) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Mozambican center Clarisse Machanguana (194-73, college: ODU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Ragusa. S.E.Battipaglia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Orvieto. Ragusa at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
