There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Benetton Treviso (5-5) defeated at home higher ranked Banco di Sard. (5-5) 80-72 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-72. Benetton Treviso outrebounded Banco di Sard. 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Jobey Thomas (193-80, college: Charlotte) who scored 17 points. Swingman Alessandro Gentile (197-92) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Benetton Treviso players scored in double figures.
