Everything could happen in Nanjing at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Foshan and 16th ranked Jiangsu Dragons had identical 3-9 record. But Jiangsu Dragons were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Foshan 111-106 on Wednesday night. Jiangsu Dragons were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 37-26 charge of Foshan, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Foshan made 7 blocks. American forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Syrian guard Michel Maadanly (195-81) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Foshan's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Nan Wu (196-89) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Foshan (4-9) moved-up to fourteenth place. Jiangsu Dragons lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with ten games lost. Foshan will face league's leader Beijing Ducks at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Shanghai Sharks (#12).
