Regular Season Round 15: La Palma - Forca Lleida 86-72

The game between third ranked Lleida Basquet (10-5) and sixth ranked UB La Palma (9-6) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Lleida Basquet was defeated by UB La Palma in La Palma 72-86. The game was mostly controlled by UB La Palma. Lleida Basquet managed to win fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UB La Palma made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Antonio Pena (203-86, college: Villanova) who led his team to a victory with 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Ivorian-American forward Jonathan Kale (203-85, college: Providence) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American-Austrian guard Jason Detrick (198-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Court Side) added 17 points in the effort for Lleida Basquet. Five UB La Palma and four Lleida Basquet players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UB La Palma moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Melilla and Menorca. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Lleida Basquet at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. UB La Palma is looking forward to face Palencia Baloncesto (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lleida Basquet will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
