Very expected game in Urumqi where 9th ranked Liaoning Hunters (6-7) were edged by fifth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (8-4) 98-96 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 30-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Liaoning Hunters were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 31 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international swingman Duo Peng (192-90) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Guard Ming Yang (193-85) responded with 25 points and the former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Loser Liaoning Hunters keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Liaoning Hunters will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu (#6) in Taiyuan.
